The first day of travel was spent on the plane and waiting at the airport.
The departure was from SFO, and we had the chance of staying at the Lounge from British Airways. It's very nice, and something very cool is that they have a boarding door from inside the lounge ! No need to go outside, just wait until the flight time, and get in.

We flew British Airways and arrived to London at 11:30am. The coach plane seats (row 44) were pretty comfortable, with individual displays in front of each passenger (very good and new movies, TV shows, and music). Dinner was served in this late flight, and was pretty good.
In London, we had to wait until 10pm for departure.

British Airways' lounge was very convenient and comfortable for such a long wait. It is very spacious with lots of sunlight, lots of food, drinks (including wine and beer!), and comfortable seats. Free Wi-fi is available, but it was hard to connect and the connection dropped a lot; perhaps because there were so many people waiting. However, at the back of the lunge they have several PC with free internet connection.

We arrived close to 5am to Athens, and just walked to the Sofitel Hotel very conveniently located inside the airport. I had booked the hotel months ago, at a reasonable price (probably half of what a similar hotel at this location would cost in the US).
